ELENCAR

Description: From the Latin elencus, meaning “a chosen group,” the term elenco in ballet refers to the ensemble of dancers whose synchrony gives balance and structure to a performance. Elencar interprets the collective nature of dance through a composition divided into multiple parts. In this modular fragmentation, distinct profiles converge to create a gesture of torsion. One form symbolically leads — a prima ballerina — followed by a company of modules that, like dancers, can shift, rotate, or expand, yet always return to a shared rhythm. Together, the elements flow like a formation of sails or ocean waves gaining momentum. When separated, they evoke an open choreography, where harmony in movement emerges from individual presences acting in unison. The many possible configurations embody the productive tension between formal precision and improvisational freedom — a dynamic that animates collective acts of grace.
